THE WORKSHOPS

Interdisciplinary Creative Process with Rigo Saura
Experience Rigo's interactive, dynamic creative process as he guides participants in forming choreography that incorporates the use of objects and/or other artistic mediums. The workshop unfolds through a three-step process: Warm Up, setting the stage for physical and mental preparedness; Improvisation, where spontaneity takes center stage; Creation, where participants mold their experiences into tangible artistic expressions. Materials for this workshop will be provided.

Dance on Camera with Natasha Adorlee
Join Natasha for a holistic warm-up and learn a contemporary dance-based phrase. After learning the material, we will go in-depth into the basics of filmmaking, supporting your journey of taking ideas from concept through production. We will then create short films during the class with this new knowledge. You only need a phone that can record video, and devices will be provided if you do not have one.

Contemporary with Anna Sapozhnikov
We will explore ways of falling in and out of the floor with efficiency. When upright, particular attention will be placed on finding mobility and ease in the upper torso, while maintaining stability in the lower half of the body. Moving through space with spatial intent and clarity, playing with musicality, and the exploration of interpretation will be investigated.

Contemporary with Paula Sousa
This class invites dancers to unravel the endless possibilities of their artistry, fostering a balance between structured technique and uninhibited creation. We’ll begin with an immersive, comprehensive exploration of the body-to floor connection, emphasizing fluidity, core strength, and balance. Then we’ll transition into the boundless realm of creativity through improvisation, engaging with musicality, spirals, spatial awareness, and presence through individual and collaborative tasks. We’ll explore each dancer’s unique movement vocabulary, integrating floor techniques, partnering, and choreographic phrases with spontaneous expression.
