Special Guest Speaker Susan Latham will speak about The Actors Fund's programs and services that are available to the Chicago dance community such as Emergency Financial Assistance, Health Insurance, and Counseling and Support Groups. She will also be asking for feedback and information from you about your human services needs and how The Actors Fund can be of service.

Susan Latham is the Deputy Director of Advancement at The Actors Fund, a national human services organization for performing arts and entertainment professionals. She began her career in New York City’s downtown performing arts scene. As company manager for composer and multi-disciplinary artist Meredith Monk she toured nationally and internationally for 5 years, supervising touring companies and managing productions at major festivals and venues throughout the US and Europe. For ten years she worked as a development and communication consultant for music, dance and theater companies, raising millions of dollars for more than 30 organizations and individual artists, producing shows and booking domestic and international tours across the United States and Europe. During this time she produced two dance theater productions by David Rousseve/Reality at Chicago’s historic Blackstone Theatre in partnership with Performing Arts Chicago and the Dance Center of Columbia College. She moved into the world of human services in 2000 after earning a Master of Science in Social Work at the Columbia University School of Social Work. Her previous positions include associate vice president of human resources and planning at Metropolitan College of New York, where she designed their Welfare to Careers program; director of development and communication at the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies; and associate director of the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy at NYU Law School.  She earned a BA in communication at Hope College and currently serves on the Boards of Pentacle Dance Works, Performing Artservices and Richard Foreman’s Ontological Hysteric Theater.
