Event Description
Join us for a discussion on community, advocacy, the healing power of the arts, and how to ensure the continued vitality of Chicago dance. The goal is to facilitate an affirmative and constructive space for dialogue - and lay the groundwork for a forward thinking circle of support for the arts. 
 
The meeting will feature useful information on proactive resources and tools.Topics will include:
  • A representative from Arts Alliance Illinois will speak and share info on action and advocacy plans across the state in the coming months
  • Learn about Dance/USA's action plans at the national level
  • Receive useful, inspiring handouts and funding news from Americans for the Arts
  • Participate in an open conversation on post-election implications and next steps for the Chicago dance field. Conversation co-facilitated by Roderick Hawkins, Senior Advisor on Community Engagement for the Office of the Mayor, and Bonnie Brooks, Director/Lead Curator, Dance Presenting Series and Associate Professor, The Dance Center of Columbia College
