Application Open for Arts in the Dark 2018

LUMA8 was proud to have carried on Cultural Commissioner Mark Kelly's vision to activate Halloween as the "artist's holiday" through the Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade last year.  It was a magnificent evening of music, dance, costumes, spectacle puppets and more.  Even Mayor Emanuel was so captivated that he stood at the rails and cheered on every single parade contingent that passed.

The goal of the parade is to celebrate the power and diversity of Chicago's vast cultural community by drawing together artists and organizations from all over the city.  We believe Arts in the Dark is on its way to becoming one of Chicago's iconic events and hope that you will choose to be a part of it this year.

The 2018 parade will take place on Saturday, October 20th from 6-8pm on Columbus Drive moving north from Balbo to Monroe.

We have been delighted by the number of groups that have joined our parade without ever having participated in an event like this before.  Please feel free to call me if you'd like to discuss your ideas for a parade contingent or if you have any questions whatsoever.  In the meantime, please join us by taking the first step and filling out the application HERE.
