Learn choreography from some of Alvin Ailey's iconic works and train in hip-hop and contemporary techniques during Ailey Experience Chicago (April 1-2, 2023)!
This weekend workshop is designed to expand on Alvin Ailey’s life-long commitment to give dance back to the people by making dance accessible to everyone. Ailey Experience Chicago gives dancers ages 9 – adult the opportunity to study with leading Ailey instructors, including former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater company members. Students will learn the rich history of Ailey’s signature style and how he changed the perception of American modern dance from Director of Ailey Extension Lisa Johnson-Willingham and, practice contemporary with Ailey II alum Levi Marsman, and learn the latest hip-hop moves from Ailey Extension instructor Keith Alexander. No experience necessary and all levels are welcomed!
