Body Politic – A Moving Dialogs Event
Presented in Partnership with Ruth Page Center for the Arts

Film Screening and Discussion “Danseur” By Scott Gormley

“Danseur,” shares the struggles of men pursuing careers in ballet. Director Scott Gormley tackles the difficult challenges like bullying and homophobia men face, while illustrating the athleticism and vitality of ballet. Furthering SCD’s exploration of health and wellness, which began in 2019 with our first Dancer Day of Health, we use this film as a jumping off point to discuss the various hardships dancers face in order to pursue their dreams.

Event will run 5:30 - 8pm with only a short pause. Light snacks and refreshment will be served.

“Danseur” will be shown with captions in addition to an ASL interpreter. Please email info@seechicagodance.com for other accessibility needs.
