STOMPING GROUNDS is a two-month, free and affordable citywide festival, showcasing the city’s most accomplished foot drummers representing American, Spanish, Mexican, African, Indian, and Irish rhythmic dialects. 

The series completes its fifth year with the grand finale on Friday, May 31st at the Harris Theater. This event will feature ALL dance companies: Stone Soup Rhythms, Natya Dance Theatre, Muntu Dance Theatre, Trinity Irish Dance Company, Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theatre, Mexican Folkoric Dance Company.

Honoring the Free For All Fund and the women who have led and supported percussive dance in Chicago: Pamela Crutchfield, Amaniyea Payne, Hema Rajagopalan, Dame Libby Komaiko, Kim Niewiedzial, and Matie M. Ovalle.
