MOMENTA presents their Fall Evening Concerts: Dancing Our Past / Creating Our Future.
Alice Sheppard (formerly of Axis Dance Company) joins us this season as performer and choreographer. The premiere of her integrated piece, I belong to you features an original musical score by Joan Jeanrenaud (formerly of Kronos Quartet). Other works on the program include the neo-Romantic ballet Les Sylphides; Doris Humphrey’s 1931 masterpiece, The Shakers; contemporary works by Cora D. Mitchell and Raphaelle Ziemba; and a new piece by Sarah Cullen Fuller, with live original music by Tom Holmes. Concerts take place on Saturdays, November 1 and 8 at 8PM and Sundays, November 2 and 9 at 7PM. The Doris Humphrey Memorial Theatre at the Academy of Movement and Music, 605 Lake Street in Oak Park.
