The Eric Hochberg Trio accompanies the first round of artists on the Navy Pier Stage. Today’s generation of emerging masters, Karissa Royster, Robyn Watson, Jumaane Taylor and Jason Janas, illuminate the very edge of where we are as tap dancers. . .  or as some say . . .  “hoofers”. Improvising solo and in ensemble, celebrating that this art form is and has been alive and well! Passing the knowledge down from the descendant masters.

JUBA #1
Black Legislator's Theater @ The DuSable Museum of African American History: 8/7 @ 7 PM

Concert evening #1 consists of the treasured masters and creators of the now. Rhythm World celebrates tap dance's historical contributions with “Door 2 The Floor”, the living legend master Ivery Wheeler. Member of the world renowned tap act, The Third Generation Steps! Mentored and trained by Dr. Maceo Anderson of the famous Four Step Brothers. The creators of the NOW have performed and experienced choreography from genius hoofers as well. Kaleena Miller delivers royalties from Minnesota, Naomi Funaki from Tokyo and Caleb Teicher from New York. Creating a standard for the new generations, we hope you’re ready for the future!

JUBA #2
Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago: 8/14 @ 7 PM

30th Anniversary closing night performance!
Attend "just" the concert or upgrade to a VIP experience that includes a post performance reception on stage with the artists, passed hors d'oeuvres and libations.
The first  2021 JUBA Award goes to  native Chicagoan and Broadway legend, Ted Louis Levy! Our closing night at the Museum of Contemporary Art will feature Mr. Levy alongside the pace setters of this dance.
