Event Description

Synapse Arts - New Works 2019

Historically presented to sold out houses, New Works brings together fresh voices for an evening of creative performances in an intimate venue. See a compelling evening of original performances by LOUD BODIES (Maria Blanco and Yariana Baralt Torres), Amanda Ramirez, Nora Sharp, and Synapse Director Rachel Damon.

The New Works program supports independent dance-based artists by commissioning them to make original performance pieces. This bi-annual program reflects the founding principles Synapse Arts, connecting artists with one another to share resources and develop their voices through the creation of unique artworks since 2004.

This program is part of The Chicago Moving Company Performance Project. The Chicago Moving Company is in residence at Hamlin Park, through the Chicago Park District’s Arts Partners in Residence Program, which unites artists and communities in Chicago’s parks.

*ASL interpretation will be offered at the Thursday, April 18th show. We regret that the Hamlin Park Theater space is not wheelchair accessible. Audiences must travel up 2 flights of stairs.
