New recreational dance studio opening this fall in the near west suburbs is hiring enthusiastic, qualified part time instructors. These positions begin mid-August and run through our 2022-2023 school year. Great opportunity to get in on the ground floor and build something wonderful together!

We are hiring for two categories of teachers:

1. Early childhood educators with a love of dance and a few years dance training and performing experience You will be primarily teaching preschooler and beginning level ballet classes. Class times for the youngest students is 45 minutes.

2. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop Instructors: well-rounded dancers with a few years of dance training and performing experience. You will primarily be teaching:
• Children’s Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz Classes
• Acro / Tumbling Classes
The position involves teaching children from 3 years of age and up through teens. Class times range from 30 minutes for private classes, 45 minutes for the youngest student groups, to 60 minutes for older student groups.  Hours of the week is flexible.

FOR BOTH POSITIONS:

1. Must be a cheerful, personable team player with the ability to communicate well with others, especially children and their parents. Must LOVE working with children! 
2. An energetic and positive attitude is essential and dance teaching experience is required.
3. You must have reliable transportation and be reliable yourself.
4. Must be knowledgeable in the proper dance techniques and be able to show links to your choreography reels, and classroom teaching style.
5. Prepare choreography for winter and spring showcases.
6. Attend recitals, performances, and special events outside of normal work hours. Occasional local travel involved
7. In addition to a positive work environment, we provide quality orientation for our new teachers while shadowing them throughout the process.

Schedule:
• Weekdays, Morning, Evening, Saturday Classes
• May include Desk Hours
• Spanish/English bi-lingual a plus
• Work location: in person instruction at the studio

Starting Part-time Pay: $12-17 per hour depending on skills and qualifications

Education:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
• Early Childhood Education Certification

Experience:
• Teaching children and teens in the performing and fine arts: 1 year
• Teaching dance to any age group: 1 year
