Development Assistant

The Development Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Individual Giving and is responsible for researching groups of current and prospective donors, fortifying donor retention across all levels, and strengthening the pipeline of donors in the small gifts space. The Development Assistant will work closely with the Annual Campaign team to produce accurate reporting and assist with large mailings.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with the Associate Director, Individual Giving and members of the development team to understand their business needs, execute research assignments, and provide database analysis to better inform annual campaign strategies 
  • Work with development and IT departments to help execute data uploads  
  • Perform prospect research and prepare executive briefing documents 
  • Prepare gift acknowledgements in a timely manner and according to Joffrey brand guidelines
  • Responsible for completing tasks related to organizing, labeling, filing, and mailing information
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Individual Giving and Chief Development Officer 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate degree required. Knowledge of non-profit fundraising models and database research procedures. Tessitura experience preferred. Proficiency and technical expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point). Candidates must be detail oriented, possess excellent written and oral communications, and have the ability to manage multiple projects at a time. A self-starter mentality is needed, as well as a sense of humor and team spirit. Must have a solid commitment towards diversity, inclusion and equity.  

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Approximately 20-24 hours a week with additional hours as required for special events, meetings, and some performances.  

 

APPLICABLE PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES: General mobility in office areas. Ability to operate data processing and other office equipment.
