Membership Coordinator

Fulton Street Collective is seeking a part-time Membership Coordinator with 1+ years experience in art administration or similar experience in art-related organizations.  We are looking for a self-starter who is also a creative thinker and enjoys collaborating with others to reach a common goal.

The person chosen for this role will be a vital part of the management team.  He or she will have many operational responsibilities, and will work with the director and the event and media coordinators to envision and develop programs that enhance the value of membership and cultivate our mission.  

Within these parameters the person will be able to define the job for themselves in a way that matches their own aspirations and career objectives. Also we prefer someone who lives a reasonable distance away from our location, 1821 W Hubbard St. 60622.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Make sure all private studios are filled at all times
  • Develop programming that enhances the value of membership
  • Support members in every way possible
  • Develop and manage a staff of interns to fulfill their needs and assist the FSC Membership Coordinator

Hours and Schedule

These responsibilities are expected to average approximately 5 - 10 hours per week, in a flexible schedule.  Much of the work can be done from any location.  Some of the work will require being onsite, at 1821 W. Hubbard, in Chicago.

Compensation

Compensation is salary + commission

  • Starting salary is $400 per month, half paid on the 15th, and half paid on the last day of the month.
  • Commission is $100 for each residential membership, and $50 for each online membership

Background

Fulton Street Collective (FSC) is an incubator for creative people, dedicated to the development of artists and the artistic community.  Through private and shared work and exhibition spaces, diverse programming and performance opportunities, FSC creates an environment that encourages artistic vision and provides access to necessary tools and resources to help artists thrive. 

Founded in 2002 by two Chicago singer-songwriters, the Fulton Street Collective grew out of a small rehearsal room in the corner of a print-shop business.  Today, FSC features 28 artist studios, a 2,500 square foot gallery exhibition space, thousands of square feet of members’ space, and many online resources.  It’s members include emerging and established artists and creative professionals, who work in a variety of occupations, including painting, sculpture, photography, screen printing, glass, digital media, performance art, and dance.

  • Is an energetic and contributing member of a team whose members are dedicated to the same goals
  • Preferably lives within a few miles of 1821 W. Hubbard
