The Chicago Verge Dance Theatre was founded in 2010 by Hilary Barry and Tyne Shillingford in Chicago, Illinois. A small contemporary dance company, CVDT seeks to portray the intricacies and challenges of every day life in an artistic and accessible exploration through movement.

Chicago Verge Dance Theatre's first concert "Impulse" took place in Spring 2011 at Links Hall in Chicago, IL.

For 2012 Chicago Verge Dance Theatre finishes its second season with full evening of original contemporary dance created by founders and choreographers Hilary Barry, Artistic Director, and Tyne Shillingford, Assistant Artistic Director. This hour long concert will present Chicago Verge Dance Theatre dancers in poignant, fun, and accessible dance appropriate for all ages and audiences. “Next” will show new work that explores the role of inevitable changes and time passing in a dancers’ life and bring back refined highlights from Chicago Verge Dance Theatre’s first season. The evening will also feature a world premier by special guest choreographer, Hanna Brictson of River North Dance Company.
