Floor Work and Weight Transfer with Adrián Marcelo Sáenz

Exploring and familiarizing the body with the floor is fundamental for contemporary dance, through weight transfers, impulses, and falls ways to enter and leave the floor will be taught.

About Marcelo:
Adrián Marcelo Sáenz is a Mexican dancer and Choreographer currently working as a soloist in State Opera Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. Graduated from Cuba’s National Ballet School in 2018, Marcelo has danced throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and United Stated. Besides dancing soloist roles in the Classical Repertoire his performance in Contemporary Dance area is as experienced and developed. Marcelo’s Choreographic work and experience has made him travel and create in different countries around the globe, Mexico, United States, Cuba, Netherlands, Russia, Japan, and Bulgaria, where he premiered a full evening ballet “Odon” in the Summer of 2022. His desire to grow, expression and passion characterize his dancing, classes, and choreographic pieces.


Join us at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts for Open Technique Classes with the Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program*, select Fridays at 9:30am. The class will feature rotating guest artists and Ruth Page School of Dance faculty. Method and technique will vary by teacher.

*The Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program is an elite group of pre-professional dancers, ages 17-25 who train daily, 9am-4pm, August – June at the Ruth Page School of Dance.

Trainee members will hone their contemporary and ballet techniques in an international environment of artists and educators with dedicated time and personalized attention to create lifelong ambassadors for the art of dance who embrace diverse cultures as a source of inspiration and human self-expression.
